Can't get any sound through my usb cable to my iPad, is it faulty?

Do you mean from your iPod?

Are you selecting the appropriate input, i.e. USB/iPod

And does it only play 'stored' music via this route?  i.e. from the iTunes music app.

for what it is worthopaedic I had exactly the same problem on a muso I bought last december. It drove me mad for a few days because inthought I might be doing something wrong. Turned out be a faulty unit, the dealer replaced it with a new one immediately.
