Audirvana update

New version out today which brings remote control via an app on Apple devices.  Should be interesting

+1 Tony.

Its always been brilliant.

I also think its great that Audirvana has kept this mode alive  to allow access to internet radio and Apple Music and also improved it with the 'DRM pass through feature' (although I am finding it difficult to test this as I don't know which of my iTunes files are 'DRMed' or not)

The Qobuz integration is apparently next of the Audirvana roadmap, with the ability to control it from the remote app...

I find Audirvana working very fine in iTunes integrated mode but struggling in music library mode when you have your music on a NAS and a very large music library (mine >2TB). Library takes around 5 min to load in Audirvana in my iMac and about 2-3 in the remote app. When you change in the app from (say) artist to album view, there's a very long wait. Not performing in my set up

Sound quality is great, nevertheless, and I don't find significant SQ differences in any mode (itunes or library).

Dambor, I also have a large over 2tb music collection on a NAS and I have absolutely no such problems with load times etc in library mode.  My NAS is connected to the same switch as my Mac Mini and it works perfectly.

I suggest that you do a google search  for 'Audirvana + 2.2' and/or 'Audirvana + 2.2 remote' (as suggested by @Dayjay, above) and you should be taken to the 'Computeraudiophile' site.

This site seems to be the centre of knowledge for Audirvana, where its software developer (damien78) frequently responds in person.  I think that a solution to your issue is likely to found there.

Did you get a response to your query on A - Z Jude?

Didn't need to.

My issue was that I didn't know which tracks in my iTunes library were DRM protected.

In the end I downloaded a track from the iTunes a Music store and tried it out.

No problem.

Admittedly this feature is not one that I will use very often, as I have been storing more and more files in a directory that is independent either iTunes or A+

Noticeable improvement to an excellent player. SSD Mac with extHD thro' Ciunas, dual TP, nDac/52/SCDR/135s. Tune dem working 4 this PrAT!

I use A+ standalone with iTunes as part of my library, hi-res files separate but all held on a LaCie 4TB external drive.

Been away so only just managed to get around to this. Prefering iTunes Integrated mode myself via Remote, wish I had saved my £7.99!

Does seem to be a bit of an improvement in sound quality with the Audirvana update though.

I take this back actually. On further listening, the sound quality improvement seems to be pretty significant. Very pleased indeed.
