I have "Childish Things" which I am really impressed with. Suggestions please for other albums of his to listen to.

"Just Us Kids" is the one that got me hooked. I have the new one as well but it hasn't grabbed me in the same way yet.

Also recommend you check out Chris Stapleton's 'Traveller'.  It may well be my discovery of the year so far.

Greetings Charles,

Where to begin? - I have just about everything my James McMurtry. 'Live in Aught Three' is a cracking live album. 'Just Us Kids' is regularly played here, as is 'Where'd You Hide the Body'.

The man writes some beautifully intelligent and funny lyrics. I guess it's in the blood - his father is Larry McMurtry.

I have the the latest album 'Complicated Game' which maintains the musical standard, but the SQ is (situation normal with current productions) poor.

Enjoy.

John.

+1. I bought his first album on the day of release in Denver on pure off chance as I saw John Mellencamp's name on the back. I have loved every album he has made.
