Aurender X100

Posted by: Bill McLean on 06 August 2015

Hi all,

Borrowed an Aurender X100 for a week and was wondering whether it can be set up fof it to recieve rips directly from a HDX. Looking forward to the answer being yes as the X100 sounds excellent.

Cheers

Bill.

If it was an HDX-SSD I expect you could pull the rips from the NA but for a 'normal' HDX I'm uncertain as I'd expect the dir. to be somehow hidden

As an aside does anyone know if the HDX-SSD employs cached playback?

This appears to be one of the key features of the X100

Hi Bill

i have the N100. You can map a drive to the Aurender so i would presume you can get your HDX to archive to this drive. you don't happen to have it on loan from Paul by any chance as i was chatting to him about this very thing on Tuesday

Hi Greame

How right you are, got for about a week and the sound stage is so much better than the HDX but I find ripping using the HDX so convenient, my problem is I have'nt a clue how to make these things connect.  If the HDX can rip to the X100 I will buy it, but need a Phil Harris to sort it.

Cheers,

Bill

The HDX as only a ripper is overkill.  You can absolutely learn how to rip cd's on a computer.  If you can connect up a hi fi, you can learn to rip cd's on a PC or Mac!

Bill if i get a chance today i will have a look through the HDX and Aurender manuals and see if i can help. Do you use a PC or Mac, as i would think one will be required to set this up.

i also had an email for the Aurender rep Liam who was extremely helpful and seemed more than happy to drop in should i need his help, ill see if i can find his address.

I also have Eric's address from Aurender which i can forward to you..

Can you email me, my address is on my profile and ill pop the addresses over.

Hi Bart,

Can't agree more with your comment but as I have the HDX already it makes things so much easier. I can transfer music from various sources to my NAS and yes it is quite simple but it is all the faffing about with tagging that I try to avoid. My issue is getting things to talk to each other!

Cheers,

Bill.

Bill

I have had a look through the HDX manual and you should take a look at section "7.4 Adding a Music Store". Also in the Aurender manual have a look at "Settings : NAS Share" and "Transferring Music".

Have a read and see if any of it makes sense. As i said send me an email and ill give you those contact details.
