beta firmware lossless cloudstreaming
Posted by: MarcelZ on 21 August 2015
In this dutch article is write that some people at Latham Audio ( dutch Naïm dealer) listened to a lossless cloudstream in cd quality with a betafirmware. They write that it will be announced soon to wich cloudstreaming they listened, because they were not allowed yet.
Its the text above the UQ2.
I am allowed to tell you that...
I am streaming from my cloud... and I do not need a beta software.

Oo come on, you know what i mean. I am dutch and maybe not write perfect english but they
listened to a service other than spotify directly from Naïm With a beta firmware wich they announce soon.So no sonos or bluesound or so between. This must be qobuz or tidal or so.
they write that they are not allowed to tell to what streaming service they listened to.
Please make it Qobuz.

Was a thread ages ago where Qobuz were quoted as saying they were working on this. If true, would love to know why it's taking so long.

This is true, but this article is from last week.

Indeed, and any news on this front is interesting. Thanks for sharing!

+1 It would of course be great to see Tidal supported as well, for those who prefer, or only have access to that service, but I for one would not even consider buying a streaming product that did not support Qobuz Lossless.
There is also Deezer Elite http://www.whathifi.com/news/d...le-exclusively-sonos

+1 I have to say that I would like Deezer Elite included, I have been enjoying it for a few months now via my sonos based 2nd system.
I've been using Deezer Elite too but I find its library more limited than Qobuz.

i have used Tidal, Qobuz and Deezer and on the whole Qobuz does have the most comprehensive content... i do like many of the published themed playlists on Tidal though - nice touch..
+1 For Tidal since Qobuz isn't offered for the North American market.
I've don't have a cloud. I use a network. Clouds don't plug in anywhere and tend to evaporate.
+1 for Qobuz. At the moment I have both Tidal and Qobuz accounts for streaming , initially for evaluation reasons...and one will get cancelled in the next few months. SQ qobuz is edging it for some reason unknown to me. Also, The content seems much more balanced and Hi def downloads are great too. If I was Naim I would go for Qobuz first, and then if they can squeeze it, Tidal for those who's country is not Qobuz enabled for whatever reason. I moved to Linn ADSM's for the very reason it has taken Naim so long to implement, and sold the SU. Shame really , I may go back to naim for one of my other systems if they can get it right

My vote would go to Tidal .. they've adopted the Meridian MQA standard .. it would dove tail nicely with a new NAIM DAC .. hmmm.
I would vote for Qobuz as well, since they also now do high res streaming.
Qobuz is not available in every country, even in Europe (eg. Poland) but Tidal is present.

I was discretely told by a north european Naim importer a beta firmware is currently being tested with Tidal hi res streaming. He didn't want to say anything about possible launch or any other details.
My Naim dealer told me the same and he has even tested this beta. (NAC N 272)
This was two days ago.
Tidal will be better than nothing as a lossless solution - and I do recognise that many countries don't have access to the substantially superior Qobuz. Superior, that is, for those who listen to any classical material, and who will therefore value gapless playback and access to booklets. In an ideal world, they will both come on board. I presume that these leaks mean that we may not be far off a launch now.

Less classical Music As qobuz is Not so good IMHO.
however. Maybe I go anyway with qobuz, baute Inlay MP3 and buy the essential Recordings.
have enough rippet CDs at my NAS.
Seriously, look at all the devices that now support Tidal , what's taking Naim so long?
