UnitiServe & Spotify
Posted by: Stu on 31 August 2015
I've a UnitiServe in one room & Uniti2, with Spotify upgrade, in another room. My question being is it possible to play the Spotify through the UnitiServe via the Multiroom concept rather than connecting my laptop to the UnitiServe? I'm a bit of a 'luddite' on techno issues!

No, it's not possible, as the Serve does neither Spotify nor multi room.

Do you have another system in the same room as the US? I assume you must have, or you wouldn't be able to hear anything! If you want to use Naim's multi room function you need another Naim streamer (Unitiqute?) in there.

Run line-out from Uniti2 to Aux-in on the amp connected to the US. Sounds better than Party Mode.

Depends if the OP wants multiroom/party mode functions. If not, surely better to run from local output of the US rather than use a very long interconnect from another room?

Stu,
I assumed your US is playing via digital-out through a nearby system --is it? Not sure what you mean when you say you connect your computer to th US to play Spotify now. Running long line-level interconnects from the Uniti2 to the other zone allows Spotify to play in sync in both zones, and to be controlled from an iPad etc.
Not everybody finds these benefits worth the fuss; I do.
