Squeeze2upnp - UPnP / DNLA Bridge

Posted by: Sloop John B on 04 September 2015

For a long term admirer of Logitech Media Server and the way it serves up to Squeezeboxes I was delighted to hear about the Squeeze2upnp - UPnP / DNLA Bridge plug-in for LMS which enables iPeng to see (and serve) my Uniqute and SuperUniti.

However all is not going swimmingly so I'm wondering if there are any others on here using this that can share their experience.

The main issue is for a playlist that is not simply a single album the tracks skip to the next track before they are finished, usually between 2 and 3 minutes in.

If it's a single album it seems to work OK.

I'm using the Uniti settings.

The second issue  is that when I select Tidal though ickstream I'm asked to log in in LMS even though I am logged in.

Both the above are working fine into SBT.

Any help is appreciated.

The skipping problem is actually there with single album playlists also, as The Beat, skipped into Pump it Up from This Year's Model.

SJB.

I'm probably the only person on the Naim Forum who uses sq2u so I'll try and help but you're probably better off asking Philippe, who wrote the plugin, at the sq2u thread on the Squeezebox Forum. I use an Intel NUC running Win 7 so my experience is only with Windows but as you've got it up and running the issue is probably just with the set-up. An image of the current settings I use is at this dropbox link. https://www.dropbox.com/s/l08q...%2020.25.12.png?dl=0

What machine do you run LMS on?

A change in the settings as per my dropbox link might help the track skipping issue but the Tidal logon is another matter.

I haven't personally experienced what you have and can stream Tidal through ickstream so I'm guessing that it's a settings issue somewhere.

It might just need you to go into the settings page of the ickstream plugin, once sq2u is running, and refresh/re-register the players?

Hope the above helps and I would just say once again that Philippe is extremely quick to respond, though he does like a log of what's happened to help in solving the problem.

I have used sq2u with both my Qute and Uniti2 running the previous Naim firmware and now the latest 4.3 so I definitely thinks it's worth persevering with!

EDIT. To test the ability to seamlessly play tracks from different sources I once created a Dark Side of the Moon playlist comprising of alternate tracks from my local files, Spotify and Qobuz which played gaplessly, so it can be made to work!

Thanks Paul, I'm running LMS on a QNAP. I presumed it was a "Player handles next track issue " but this doesn't seem to be the case.

I'll persevere and read some more of the manual, thanks for the help.
