Greetings from Canada,
New naim owner here, couldn't be happier with the system! One minor glitch, however, and one that I hope will find some resonance on this forum: I cannot link Spotify to my uniti2 (pre-BT version). After having gone far and wide on the Big Internets, I can honestly say that the problem seems unique to my system...
I can see the naim uniti2 on my iPhone (6), my iPad (2) and my Macbook pro. It appears under the green speaker icon (Spotify connect). When I select the naim uniti2 as the output device, Spotify indicates that it is connecting, and it is trying to, for a few seconds. Then I get kicked out, and Spotify reverts to the device in question (either iPhone, iPad or Macbook).
Some details: my uniti2 is connected to my home network through a RJ45 wire connection (the wireless was iffy, and was dropping off every few minutes, so I have used ethernet cable instead). Firmware is the latest (4.03, I believe), Spotify is the latest build as well. All internet radio, network hard-drive music, etc... work flawlessly. The uniti2 is set as DHCP, not fixed IP. On its own, Spotify works well in the various devices. The sequence used is: I turn my uniti2 to Spotify mode through the naim app on the iPad, the front disply on the uniti2 indicates Spotify mode, and instructs me to start the Spotify app, which I do. Once Spotify is running on my iPad, I try to connect to the naim device as an output, and after the obligatory «connecting...» message, Spotify resumes play on the iPad.
I am at my wits' end. Most problems seem to be about detecting the naim device, but I do not have an issue there. Connecting Spotify to it, well, that's another story. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Kind thanks in advance.

Hi Florin
You are not alone!'
I have exactly the same problem with Spotify on my NDS And it behaves exactly as you describe. Oddly, it worked fine at first, but after switching off the whole system for three weeks Spotify doesn't want to play. It works fine with a Superuniti in another system, with the same ioad running the app.
There is a suggestion that the problem lies with the Modem/router and its poor implementation of Bonjour. The NDS relies on A TalkTalk router while the SU has a BT one.
When I pluck up the courage I will try a factory reset of the NDS to see if that sorts things out?
There are several knowledgable people on the forum and I hope they will be able to help you out.
incidentally, I have invested in an Apple TV module and this gives me Spotify OK, not to mention Qobuz.

Hello Wanderer, and thank you for your reply. Apple TV is definitely one way to go, to be sure. I would however like to solve the problem without introducing additional technology, if possible ;-)
I wonder if the good people at naim have specific recommendations for a router, one that is not liable to cause problems such as the one we are discussing. In any case, I'll see where the collective advice will take me. Thanks again.
Cheers.

Fixed! (With some side effects...)
Just an update, for those interested. I tried a few things to get this solved, to no avail. I even purchased a new Linksys router to replace my D-Link. Ultimately, what helped was adding a NetGear switch between the Linksys router and the Ethernet-over-mains connection to the Uniti2. Spotify started immediately. However, I now get iRadio and Spotify signal drops from time to time, where before, I had none. I will try to work on the Linksys configuration to optimize QoS on the Unity and streaming in general.
Cheers.
