Hello, recently I've been having problems with my laptop, but seem to have mainly sorted the issues, but today, I am having problems with my Uniti. I have re-connected to the internet, and it shows connected, but when I try to select Resynch Time From Net, I get the message "Neither time server could be contacted. Check UDP123 is not firewalled". I'm also unable to connect to internet radio.
I've also had to reinstall Norton Internet Protection on my laptop, and am wondering if this is affecting things? Should I try turning off the firewall in Norton?
I'm also having problems connecting to the internet using my Lenovo tablet, if it helps?
Please, can anybody help, I'm really frustrated.

I agree with Cristian your home broadband router sounds like it's getting in a pickle and not mapping the ports to your internal addresses properly after a while. A restart should clear, but if it keep returning may be time consider a better broadband router.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried turning Norton firewall off, but to no avail. Would it help to know what UDP123, shown in the Uniti display when it fails to reset the time, refers to?
And, as I can stream and "cast" music from my laptop to the Uniti with no problems, even Flac!, presumably done via my router, then it may just be that the router is blocking internet access to the Uniti, even though it shows a connection?

Hi 'UDP123' is a label that is being used to describe a port numbered 123 used for network time protocol (NTP) communication. This is a special protocol used for synchronising realtime clocks across data networks.
The UDP refers to the type of data transmission, which is a fire and forget, as opposed to TCP which is send, collect, check. UDP is typically faster across a larger network.
What is a port? Every IP address is split up into possibly thousands of ports or sub addresses. These are used for specific applications and allow applications to share the same IP address, by the applications using specific ports. Some ports are standardised and priveledged as here and should be maintained, other higher number range ports can be user defined or defined by the router when sharing a single external address with any devices on the inside home network .. This is called PAT port address translation
Therefore it appears your home broadband router is blocking this port and therefore NTP is unable to function on your home network using a master clock on the Internet.

Many thanks for your elucidation, Simon-in-Suffolk, that's precisely the information I was searching for. I must check the manual for my Uniti, to see if it's in there. If not, I'll add it for future reference.
Had I been aware earlier, I would have rebooted my router earlier.
However, I have now rebooted it, and all is as normal. Yippee! I can relax again.
Thanks, everyone.
