Update to 4.3 and Spotify comes back!

I am posting this in case it will help anyone else who may have encountered similar problems

A couple of weeks or so ago I commented on the forum that Spotify Connect was no longer working on my NDS, though it had done so previously, and I wondered if this was related to the fact that I had previously updated my Superuniti  (different location) to 4.3 and thus whether the Naim App had become linked to the new firmware and was thus not communicating properly with the 3.22 firmware on the NDS. I was reluctant to update the NDS as others (admittedly a minority) had indicated adverse sound consequences of the upgrade. There were suggestions that my TalkTalk router was the problem.

Well, yesterday I took the plunge and updated the NDS to 4.3 and lo and behold Spotify has come back! Why this should be so I don't know, but on reflection I suspect it was due to a partial factory reset involved in the firmware upgrade, rather than the 'linking' of the app referred to above.

The sound quality seems OK after the upgrade, much to my relief!

Having bought an Apple TV to overcome the problem I am now in the happy position of being able to stream Qobuz so I'm doubly happy.

It's always good to hear of someone solving a problem! And helps spread the knowledge to help others who run into the same problem. I think you are right that it is probably the factory reset that did the trick. Most people seem to be more than happy with the sound quality of the 4.3 firmware update on devices with the SHARC dsp, so I expect you will be too.

best
