Mark.

I'm not interested in your "Naim Label sampler", I just want Gapless and Seek to Time... ASAP.

Seek I, and I think most people would consider pretty basic functionality which for some unknown reason was omitted from the Mu-so. How the Mu-so was allowed to be released without this fundamental transport action is beyond me, but it is what it is, and it should be remedied ASAP.

Implementing both AVTransport:SetNextAVTransportURI(URI,URIMetaData) and AVTransport:Seek(mode, target) are relatively trivial tasks.

So please send me a FW which supports them, so I can't stop complaining about my Mu-so's lack of control.

I'd be happy with the source + tools to get it on my Mu-so, if that's an option.

Yours sincerely, Ray.

PS: I know you're the Test Manager, so if required pls forward my post to the Dev Manager.

Be happy! Gapless playback is coming to your muso...

Rabies,

Since the Muso is not a transport itself how would you go about implementing a seek function that would work with the myriad transports out there that might be connected to the Muso?

Why would you not use the seek function on the actual transport? And how do you propose that Muso would be able to override it?

If you are wanting this functionality why did you buy a Muso in the first place? Was it simple ignorance of the nature of the product?

Most reviewers and purchasers rave about the Muso so I suggest that your issue is not quite as universally supported as you suppose. Listening to snippets of music is not really a high priority for most music lovers. Sound quality on the other hand definitely is. My brief listening session confirmed that Muso is exceptional in that regard and was certainly ready for marketing to those who value listening over excessive features lists.

Kind regards

Andy

Hi Andy,

I do not understand what you mean by "transport".

That the naim seek function (in my case in the uniti 1) is not the standard method for seeking is annoying for me, too. Every time I use BubbleUPnP and want to seek inside the track I am disappointed that you only see the error 700 (or whatever it is). This is a thing that you are not necessarily aware of when buying such a device.

And the argument that "listening to snippets of music is not really a high priority for most music lovers" is not really a good argument in my opinion. It is important enough so that naim implemented this feature, too, but as it seems in a proprietary way.

Another feature that I wish naim would implement some day is support for the open home standard. The devices also manage the playlist on there own allready. If this playlist would be controllable in the open home standard way, you could use other apps to set up the playlist, too. That would be great (as BubbleUPnP is better in some things like displaying track times in library view and playlist view, or supporting UPnP-search, etc).

As long as existing standards do not limit the functionality in any way, they should be use instead of doing there own thing. IMHO

Greetings

Gert

Andy why not educate yourself @ http://upnp.org/ (Naim is a member), before writing nonsensical comments.
Seeking a part in a 2hr audio file is not listening to snippets... that's why it's called Seek to Time, ubiquitous since the time of the

Phonograph.

Seek; excessive features lists?... speechless.

I'm happy you like your Mu-so as it is.

I'm happy Naim are almost done addressing a deficiency in the interface.
