Mac mini/ raspberry pi / various nas's - what's the best?

Hello everyone,

I've entered to this digital world before a year ended up with Naim Nds, needless to provide

additional details, it's an incredible unit.

In those days I'm streaming my music through external hard disc that connect to my Lenovo

pc that apparently seems working fine.

I've read many posts about various UPnP and it seem there are a lot of better options.

For me, there is a "missing link" in my system, I wonder if those options that mentioned

above are a compromise "short cut" to Naim Unitiserve/ Naim Ns01?

Well, that's very confusing; what to choose? There are so many …

Is anyone on this forum done a deep research and compared those options in term of sound

quality?

Regards,

The Roon web site implies that the Mac-mini with Rooon could not act as a Upnp server.  Is that not true?  If so, how are you getting the signal to a DAC. And which one are you using and how?  Connecting the Mac-mini to an ND5SX via USB is problemstical due to clock issues, apparently.

Right, no upnp just a NAS share works with roon! If you already have a ND5SX you'll don't need a macmini. So sorry, I didn't ready the whole topic.... On the other hand, you could install minimserve on macmini to have upnp support (or twonky) :-) choices, choices, choices...
