Unitiserve upgrade

FYI I own a 1 TB Unitiserve that is almost full. I asked the local dealer about how much it would cost to upgrade to the 2TB spec, retaining all current music and I was quoted $250NZ. I was expecting to pay more than this, so if others are in the same situation this may be worth considering.

I am guessing you need to consider a back up strategy if you do not currently have one?

Hi Gary

Yes, eventually. However my US has not missed a beat in 3 years. It is a hard drive version as well.

Does upgrading to 2TB spec mean that you will also be able to copy downloaded files to the Uniti Serve or does it just increase your storage capacity from 1 to 2 TB?

Hi Kingsize, yes it does allow this, ie full current spec, from what I have been told.

That's correct, you can store any files on the 2TB version simply by 'drag and drop' from a computer, in addition to CD rips. What you can't do is edit these files in N-Serve, so it's a good idea to make sure any metadata editing is done before you transfer the files to the Unitiserve.

Cool, seems like $250 well spent then.  I was under the impression that it didn't add this functionality but simply increased storage campacity.
