Best QNAP dlna server for streaming to nd5xs

Posted by: BENEDICT on 21 September 2015

I have just set up my new TS-251 in RAID1 with 2 WD red 4TB

And I have read I can choose among several available dlna servers. It seems 2 are by default

Which one would be the best ?

Thanks

I've a couple of TS-210 and am just in the process of replacing them with TS-253

I've used Twonky, Minimserver, Asset and Plex.   For me Asset is the best but I don't do Classical or Jazz, it appears Minim is maybe the best for those genres

I also have ND5XS

I am going to install Asset that is part of the QNAP app

Best regards

I use Plex and Asset. Plex is good because you can edit the artist, album, track name and artwork, within the App.

However, Asset is more responsive when using the Naim app. So normally, I use Asset.

+1 for Asset. Easy to set up and completely reliable.

You will find in the Administrator GUI of Qnap the option to download SW like plex, minimserver etc. just per click !

Ah yes, sorry, you're referring to the App Centre! Sorry I thought you'd mentioned cataloging/tagging software I hadn't heard of before...
