How I create playlists for the Uniqute

Hi all,

Well after a lot of to and fro I have finally got a workable system for creating playlists.

My Setup:

nstream app on iphone

nasgear ready nas duo

So I have all my CD's ripped to the duo and shared via uPnP. That all works fine but as you know n-stream can't create playlists. I find this problematic - I like to cue up 3 - 5 albums for a morning of listening. This was easy on the Squeezebox duo - start the first album and then push the add button every time I found a album I wanted to listen to.

So this is what I've done. I have squeeze center running on the ReadyNas duo and make my playlists there. I have added playlists to the readydlna sharing and have it sharing the folder where Squeeze center is placing the playlists. Because ReadyDLNA (really MiniDLNA) and Squeeze center are indexing the same folder of flacs all of the paths are correct.

So this works reasonably well.

I hope this helps someone :-)

What an excellent idea. Having no experience of Squeezecentre, I tried creating playlists using Foobar (on PC), and then save them onto the NAS as you have done, then hey presto, playlists on my UnitiQute.

I think it would be really handy if Naim was to add a playlist table, Like chorus ds. As I like to just add tracks for different albums as I go. It's great for party's as you can save the playlist and use it at a later time.

Plus how about the being able to change the tracks on the Remote control without having to have the iPad page on the ( now playing ) page. Eg if the wife is looking for an album or track I can't just move to the next track on the handheld remote..   Very very frustrating !
