searching forum whilst at work!

I work in an open plan office and luckily I sit in the corner looking out. Ive spent all day - and I mean since 9am until now, reading the Naim forums. Its ace! Beats working for a living anyway. I now consider myself a Naim expert - apart from streamimg. Im no techno dunce but the more I read, the more I learn, the more I need to read and the more I get confused. Im now thinking of writing a book called 'FLAC vs. WAV'. The whole streaming forum (and my personal experience) can be summarised as follows:

All Naim owners with kit that stream are very happy with the sound reproduction and product quality but there is a whole heap of pain and angst associated with upnp wireless integration and n-stream interfaces. There are very few issues there relating to uniti range i-radio/DAB/CD/digital input problems???

Can someone set a specific list of recommedations such as router choice, NAS choice, upnp software choice which are known to work with the uniti range. I know there are lots of threads about this but Id like to hear the difinitive advice from Naim. Set up/trouble shooting diagrams for slackers who like to avoid work like me would be good too.

Finally, and this is the issue thats taxing me the most, Im streaming directly from my Uniti to a windows 7 sony laptop. Its working fine. Why do lots of you use upnp software when windows 7 does the job. Am I missing out on something? Am I lucky or misguided? This is keeping me awake at night.

Only 3 hours to go before home time...

Agreed, and you don't normally boast about it.

In my organisation it would be deemed as gross misconduct and subject to instant dismissal.

On second thoughts, its probably the Manager who should be sacked, for not knowing what's happening in the department.

This sacking business seems a little extreme, but someone should definitely get fired!

Doesn't say much for Public Sector efficiency.

Nice to know how my taxes are being spent!
