"V2.1 Was that fast? I thought that was fast!"

N-Strean V2.1 has hit the app store and although I haven't had time to test it in anger on an Ipad, on my Iphone 4 it is ceratinly quicker at moving around the library tree. No sign of any other changes.

Is it me or does the volume control seem to have a mind of its own? First try and everytime I move it with the app in turns back to what is was.

It has a mind of its own! Moves by itself after you have removed your finger!! Not long until V2.2 me thinks.

No problems with volume control here (iPhone 4). Have you tried restarting your phone/iPad after installing?

After playing with N-Stream for a few hours ...

Speed increase is real, tangible and very welcome.

On  original iPad the app feels much more responsive, almost as fast as Remote with movement around the library tree much swifter.  On iphone 4 app is now much more usable and responsive but on an iPad 2 it flies and cover art loading is instantaneous which if I was being uncharitable may well be down the the dual core A5 chip rather than the software.

A fast server (Vortexbox 1.9) certainly helps but app is clearly much better in terms of speed.

(temporary hijack)

Tog: Since Vortexbox rips in Flac by default, how do you stream it to a Naim streamer device? Are you using an NDX? IIRC the UnitiQute doesn't pick up Flac via UPnP.

@LeeTom

I stream to a Uniti and to several Apple Macs (VB transcodes flac to wav) - sounds good. I'm sure that the Qute does accept a flac UPnP stream just like its big brother.

Much faster.

Just downloaded and sitting here trying various inputs. It switches much quicker.

I'm not entirely sure how that can be but I'm using the evidence of my (admittedly subjective) eyes and ears!

Qute is very happy with FLACs. It won't stream Apple Lossless though. Some UPNP servers (EyeConnect) won't stream FLAC.
