Tidal next week..
Posted by: Fueller on 29 September 2015
So Tidal has now been announced for Naim Streamers / Muso to the delight of many here I'm sure.
This wasn't a necessity for me but I'd be silly not to take advantage of the 3 month free trial and potentially cancel the spotify sub.
Thoughts?

Must be the a pre-req of the plugin.

It was the same with Yosemite for me.
Once this upgrade is done, will it replace Sportify or does it give the option of both???

You can use either/both/none.
I do apologize for coming back to my topic but i need your advice. I have contacted the local Wimp/Tidal support and my current account was cancelled/re-set and new account must be created. Now the questions are coming: am I creating the account through the Tidal web page? How will I receive the voucher/code for the 900 days free?
No, create a new account in the naim app, which will take you directly to the web page with the code
Thank you. I will try. Of course i was too optimistic with 900 days free
Guys - just a friendly warning. DO NOT type "Tidal" into the search field of the Tidal app. If you do it will break the internet.
The Naim app has updated on my iPad to version 4.6 but I can see no sign of the Tidal login anywhere. I have reset the app, turned the iPad on and off and still nothing. am I just being a numpty? I haven't up-dated my qute2 yet as I was planning on doing this in the morning but presumably this should have no actual baring on the app itself.

Indeed. No new firmware, no Tidal.
thanks chaps, being a numpty then been a long week, at least that is my excuse
Yup. Numpty. It could be worse!
Does anyone know why my Tidal code is being classed as invalid and how I might go about getting this resolved?
Not entirely sure if I am on the 90 or 30 day trail, have a feeling somethings gone Pete Tong (user error I am sure) and I'm on the latter. Still, sounding extremely good and from a quick perusal this morning, Tidal has much of the music I and my good lady love, which is a beautiful thing. Can't imagine I'll be staying with Spotify premium for too much longer based on initial listening experience! Very much like the integration that Naim have done with this though
If you login to the tidal website and go to settings - subscriptions it should tell you the date of your first payment.

Cheers KRM I'll take a look
I'm sure this has been mentioned before but new/trail users of Tidal should be aware that on installation the default wifi streaming setting is usually the lowest sound quality. One needs to go into the settings and change it to hifi quality. The 90 day trial is HiFi quality.
Voltaire, are you sure ?
I haven't touched any of the settings and the Naim app is showing that I'm streaming FLAC 44.1kHz.
Ah, maybe its not the case for this specific trial, my mistake. It was the case when i signed up.
It looks like you need to change the setting if you want to listen through the Tidal app.
The Naim app seems to default to CD quality streaming.
Sounding good so far.
Did the update! Easier than I thought from some of the stories I've read. Tidal working great and the 90 day trial was added to my existing 30 day trial so no payment until 1/18/16! Very cool!
Now for the question. I have a friend who also did the update but did not go through the process to create a new account and get his code via Naim. He signed up using his existing account and now can't get the code from Naim. Is there a way for him to get the code or is he out of luck? TIA.
So, until Qobuz dosen't offer a integration into Naim as Tidal does they are not competitive.
Have stopped my streaming abo.
