A tale of two Credos...

Well I was terrified earlier when I took my turntable into the local dealer and replaced the Elys2 cartridge. Also, I removed the crossovers from the Credo and took them in to be checked and have the bananas cleaned up a bit (they are 17 years old).
Anyway I got back home...set it all up, sweating like crazy from moving so fast! Fired it up, played some records...oh no. Where is it? What happened? The magic, I lost it! Will it every come back!?
Telling myself its just break in for the cart, etc...kept listening. After awhile I thought it sure is bright and no bass at all, something is not right. Then I remembered how much time I spent setting the Credo perfectly...and when they were not far enough back against the wall, the music just fell out of the air and sounded terrible.
Lots of volume required to get any kind of bass..
Moved them back, no toe-in, etc...little left, little right...play another vinyl. Oops...small amount of toe-out correct...BOOM! It's back!
Wee, back in bliss now. These Credo are magic *IF* they are placed just right...big lesson here. But also some confidence...that I can judge, adjust and get it back sounding right. But, for a couple hours I was in stark terror I had lost it forever. Very little volume required just like before...with full sound image and clarity. Not too close or artificial *bump* to the bass.
I'm now enlightened to the understanding speakers must be moved, moved, moved, ...adjusted...tweaked...then the image forms. How many problems have I had that were really just simply not placing the speakers right??
