Vacuuming out components

Is there any sense in doing this, if the amplifier, DA converter and Uniti Serve have been sitting on a dusty shelves for 2 to 3 years. Could it conceivably make a difference?

Modern Naim boxes are well sealed so interior dust shouldn't be an issue. If needed interior cleaning is needed, it is probably best done by your local Naim dealer at a routine service. I think compressed air in aerosol cans tends to be used on delicate electronics.

More frequent routine vacuuming of the shelves seems the simpler route. Speaking of which, time for me to do mine. Thanks for the reminder .

No, don't do it.  There's a risk of causing electrostatic damage to chipsets.

Never needed to do it, not even on my trusty 1989 32.5.  Always pretty much dust free. If dust is really a problem, consider an air ioniser near the kit perchance?

No idea what that would do for SQ. Anyone researched the effects of airbourne dust on sound pressure?

Never any worries with dust inside, not that I check. I dust cases and shelves every so often with one of those Johnsons  microfibre wand duster thingies and they work a treat. If you're worried about static (not that I've ever found that they cause static issues) you can always use a grounding strap.

my rule with Naim is that the sleeves only come off at the dealer or back at the factory And that's a very rare occurrence!
