Posted by: Partcloudy on 06 October 2015

I can't see the 4.4 update. Problems?

Not released yet! 13.04 BST.

Bit of a farce this, given the anticipation. w What about a status update?

Posted on: 06 October 2015 by hungryhalibut

Why is it a farce? It's still the 6th for over 10 hours. Try deep breathing.

Maybe they're waiting for the Queen to arrive.

If you look at the other thread, you'll see that the link has been removed.

Posted on: 06 October 2015 by Bigfoot
Which link? Is this a clue while we await an announcement ?

Perhaps they've decided to go with Qobuz after all!

A thread was started by someone who found they couldn't do the upgrade under OSX El Cap. Phil Harris replied saying it worked for him but evidently it's not working for everyone and is being investigated (I am surmising here as the thread has been pulled).

Not probiding a status update seems completely amateurish.

Hi,

We have the update planned for today as notified in our news release...

The iOS and Android apps *MUST* be available *FIRST* to enable use of the new functionality.

The iOS app went live yesterday, the Android app should be on the Play Store soon.

Once the Android app is live on the Play Store then we can release the 4.4 updater.

At this stage *ALL* is still to plan for the 4.4 release for today as far as I am aware and all is going to schedule.

The forum thread(s) that were deleted were from some forum members identifying and downloading a version of code that was not the official release.

Best Regards

Phil Harris

Absolutely ... I'm looking forward to downloading the updater and updating my kit tonight but it seems a bit of a leap to start calling "farce" ... if anything the eager ones who started downloading files that weren't released and weren't linked to was more of a 'farce'?

Seems like it's up there for download now ...

I suspect that there are much bigger things to get stressed about than access to Tidal, which I am sure will be along as planned shortly.

Oh Christ, I'm starting to get excited. Right how do we update it again? I did it once and have now forgotten. I wonder how many times this gets asked?

Posted on: 06 October 2015 by Phil Harris

Updaters should be available for download now ... all as planned.

Well done to the team here - good work guys.

Good afternoon Phil,

As far as I can see there is no new firmware (4.4) for download yet (17.22) from the official Naimaudio.com site. No worries though, I already have the "German" 4.4 firmware, but I prefer to wait for your official Naim release.

I think you are doing a good job keeping us updated and answering our questions. Thank you!

But please don't let some very impatient forum members push you into stating release times or dates if they cannot be met.

To the rest, the new firmware will be available when it is available, relax!
Might I suggest you listen to some good music, instead of creating some kind of frenzy about a piece of software.

All the best.
