naim aro on gumtree!

Looks a very good buy at £730 too cheap?
I was going to delete this thread (forum rules) however I've decided to let to stand as a warning to anyone considering buying this to be very careful indeed. The site in question seems to be a favourite playground for criminals (who wish to relieve you of your cash) and those who have forgotten the old maxim of "if it looks too good to be true then it usually is..". Crims have learned that Naim kit attracts lots of buyers and good money. Price it temptingly below market prices (easily gleaned from ebay etc..) and wait for the lambs to come to the slaughter.
Do you feel lucky..?
I've alerted the people at Audiogon to at least three too-good-to-be-true listings for top level Naim gear within the last year or so. The posters appeared to be appropriating the identities of people with good feedback who hadn't bought or sold anything for a long while. The ads disappeared within a day.
I think too good to be true , I wouldn`t go there personally, a warning post.
I bought a wonderful pair of IBLs for £200 on Gumtree, from a totally honest seller, so don't assume it's dodgy, but do take care. If you can see it, check it, check with Naim whether it's been serviced (or on the list of stolen items) and pay cash, then go for it. If the seller won't allow that, it's very likely dodgy.
Planning on selling it to upgrade soon - will have to have a think (aside from the above) of ways to avoid sounding dodgy...
I've had a look at the ad on Gumtree. The thing that seems odd to me is the reference to a 99p start, when clearly this is not an auction. It's likely been lifted from an eBay listing, but exactly whose is the issue.
Lo and behold, here is the completed auction from which the details have been lifted...

Bang on Hungryhalibut. A good call to leave the post on Richard , this may have saved a forum member a few quid. thanks
I have just reported it , on the site it`s being sold on.
Some years ago I sold a pair of cherry SL2s on eBay, and the very same ad was subsequently listed three or four times in scam auctions. It's scary that there are these scumbags around, preying on the unwary, but also making life hard for legitimate sellers.
I remember seeing the sl2`s , you really have to tread with care, collection in person and cash if you`re not using a dealer me thinks.
Paying cash and collecting in person is no guarantee of safety. Does anyone remember the case a few years back of the crims who advertised Naim on the site in question at tempting prices and lured buyers with cash to a bogus address where they were then mugged?
Repeat after me - "if it looks too good to be true it usually is..."
