Superline to HiCapDR - Correct Cable ?

Posted by: deepinsight on 12 October 2015

Does anyone know the recommended cable configuration to connect a superline to a hicap-dr?

The hicap-dr is connected to a 282 Aux2 input via a 4 pin (at the hicap-dr end) with a hiline into the rightmost socket when looking at the sockets.

The Hi-Cap comes with a 5 PIN SNAIC which is the correct cable for this connection.     You will also need to be sure the Burndy shorting plug supplied with your Superline is inserted into the socket on the rear of the Superline.

Good luck,

I prefer the lavender 4-5 pin IC to the Hiline with my Superline/Supercap.

deepinsight,

you need two cables: a 5-pin, 240° SNAIC to connect the Superline to the HiCap, and a 4-pin, 240° to 5-pin, 180° Interconnect (the 'lavender' and the HiLine versions are available) to go from the HiCap to a high level input of the preamp or integrated, such as Tape, Tuner or Aux.

Hope it helps,

Max

I agree with Max - and also with Steve

I prefer the Hiline compared to the lavender 4-5 pin IC although the Hiline has to be dressed just so with the plugs slightly extracted and the cable hanging totally free and not touch anything. A bit of a faff but once done it sounds mighty fine.

I still have not done the SL comparative dem but the Sound Org have the SL 4-5 pin  IC lined up for me so I will report back sometime.
