I thought this was down to using wireless but it has happened again since getting wired up. Just before the end of a very few tracks there is a loud click/snap noise (it's a bit hard to describe). It's reproducible, as the click appears in the same place if I play the track again.
I'm pretty certain that this is only happening to high resolution ALAC files as the noise disappears if I convert to FLAC or a lower resolution ALAC. It affects both Qobuz and Linn downloads and happens when streaming from both JRiver and Asset UPnP. The files play fine through the MacBook Pro's headphone out. It is very intermittent - only affecting about half a dozen tracks so far- but it makes you jump when it happens!
I'll download my Qobuz albums again as FLAC and see how it goes, but has anybody come across anything like this?

I would report the issue to Naim directly so they can look into it. In the meantime downloading in FLAC will hopefully remove the issue, though not solve it of course. You can also try setting your upnp server to transcode to WAV on playback, which I'd expect to sound better.

I remember something similar with ALAC being reported a while back. Not sure how it eneded up but might be worth a search ..........
The DSD click/pop issue mentioned by nudgerwilliams is not the same. It was DSD only, not 24/192. Its still there but very much reduced to a soft click & its not on every album or every track change & not every time. Naim have it on the bug-fix list

Thanks for the replies.
I do have the latest firmware update, so will report this to Naim. I tried searching but without success so far.
The clicks are very intermittent as I've played several 96 kHz ALAC albums without problems. I have got one very short track though where the click is repeatable, so maybe I could send this to Naim. I'll try transcoding to WAV before downloading any more FLAC versions. I'd forgotten how long this takes.

Setting Asset UPnP to transcode ALAC files to WAV seems to have fixed the problem, and I think the tracks do sound better. I gave up trying to work out how to get JRiver to transcode, but I'll have another go when I get time.
The SU is sounding wonderful with my rips and downloads. I'm also very impressed with BBC Radio 3 HD.
