NDX-SSD Frozen
Posted by: steveaxe on 18 October 2015
I have the NDX-SSD and it has frozen. Before I take it back to get serviced, is there anything I can do myself at home first ?
Do you mean HDX SSD? If so, it has no hard drives to damage so I'd just turn if off, leave it a couple of minutes and then turn it on again. It's a computer basically and that's what the help desk always say!
Yes, `i do mean HDX - SSD. I have tried that a few times and it is still frozen.
Is your HDX wired to your home net work? Have you tried to switch of the HDX, detach the ethernet cable and turn the HDX on again ?
What is showing on the screen while it is frozen?
if you call Phil at Naim Support, he will probably ask you whether you can connect a computer display to the VGA socket on the back of the HDX, as this can give lots of information about where it's getting to when it gets stuck. So it might be worth trying that before you call him so you can give him that info.

There was an active thread running on this last week. Not on the SSD version of the HDX, but the rescue procedures are the same, the SSD can develop boot sector errors (mine did) and the CMOS battery can die. Also, technical support contacts are the same and I hope they can get you up and running quickly. Good luck.
