Connection help

Posted by: masterofwine on 31 October 2015

I had to disconnect my kit due to some house construction - had it all packed up.  Thought I gave myself sufficient guidance as for reconnection, but I didn't.

After working at it, I'm thoroughly confused.

Gear:

LP12 with Prefix (has a 5 pin interconnect, but I can't figure out where this goes)

2 Hi-Caps

NAC 102

CD3.5 (using because my CDX has died)

NAP 250 (this is obvious)

SBLs (also obvious)

Help with connecting the 1st three elements would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

One of the Hicaps will be powering the Prefix; so Prefix into the Hicap DIN5, then signal from hicap to NAC102 via 4-5 DIN interconnect.

Thanks so much for trying to help me.  So Prefix into Socket 4 of one Hicap, then signal from Hicap (which socket?) to NAC102 input.  And as for the second HiCap, am I using socket 4 via 5-4 interconnect to power the NAC 102?

I really appreciate it.

Connect the NAC102 to the first HICAP as per the manual. You connect HICAP to nac102 via SNAIC5. This carries both power and signal. Then take signal from HICAP to NAP250 via the DIN4-XLR cable.

A HICAP has one power/signal socket on DIN5 and three signal sockets on DIN4s. You can use any of the DIN4s.

Thanks so much - think I've got it set now.  Much appreciated.
