You can ask Naim for that, but if you are unsure about a specific unit, it will have the DR logo on the back panel (if newly manufactured as DR).

From what I have seen, units upgraded to DR also have the DR logo on the back.
It's your choice. If half price is £1,750 and you add the £1,000 upgrade, that's £2,750. Which is £750 less than a new DR version. Against that, maybe - and it's just maybe - an 'original' DR may - and it's just may - hold its value better. But if you don't plan to sell it it won't matter. But then again, do you want to be without your new amp for a month when you sent it to Salisbury to be upgraded? Like I said, it's your choice.
If 6 months old it is basically new but just run in nicely for you.
I would buy the 250.2.
Unless you are getting a 200 DR.
Then i would get the 250.2 without any hesitation.
750 GBP is a lot of money to save. and if and when you decide to go for DR upgrade, then it will be even better.
