Naim to build in-dash turntable with auto-flip

Posted by: Sneaky SNAIC on 01 November 2015

Secret sources say Naim was very close to building an LP12-beater with Aro-2, but decided it against it.  Naim felt just building a turntable better than the LP12 wouldn't make enough of a statement; they had to put them into the vehicle.

A great task by any measure, but even that wasn't enough--eventually auto-flip was written on the whiteboard.  There was even discussion of a 5-LP changers with auto-flip, but the numbers didn't add up as most would not be able to afford it.

The source also hinted at another future item:  3D stabilized, free floating Fraim, with an aftermarket van-conversion kit, or custom van conversion services available from any Naim dealer.

Back later with more deep intel...

Yes, I've been beta testing this for some time but am not allowed to discuss it on here.  i've got the fifty disc multichanger version in my Reliant Robin which will be great if they can stop it tipping over when I go around corners.

Yes, I expect Clarkson had one of those in his Reliant Robin when he road tested it because his kept tipping over going round corners if memory serves.

Didn't realise Clarkson was a beta tester!

This just in:  A shipment of Burndy cables has been hijacked in Barnstoneworth en route to Naim HQ.  Said Gordon Ottershaw: "The cables were stolen for their metal content for one pound (per pound), and melted down yesterday."

There are no suspects as of yet, but Scotland Yard has been called in.
