CDS3 with XPS DR or 555PS non DR

I only ever ran the CDS3 with a non DR 555PS..............stunning!

I tried my non dr XPS2 and 555PS on my CDS3 .. For me the XPS2 was significantly more enjoyable... The 555PS to my ears made the CDS3 sound more clinical and less musical... clearly all very subjective..

Another vote for the 555PS, but again versus the non DR XPS2. More natural sound to my ears. Both fed through 252/300 at the time. I guess if the pre-power aren't up to it, the PS question should wait.

Considering to update my xps to DR version, or exchange to 555ps, anyone used the xps DR? Would also need comments if compare with xps non DR.

I went from non-Dr to XPS-DR on my CDS3. Light and day difference and well worthwhile in my opinion. I have heard the nonDR 555PS on a CDS3 in a similar system to my own. Also worthwhile upgrade to nonDR XPS. I would therefore expect the 555PSDR to show similar benefits over the XPS-DR.
