New NAP300DR - not a rant

Posted by: Graham Clarke on 06 November 2015

So, my matched set of NAP300DRs (three of them) are due to be delivered by UHES tomorrow.  I expect to find a full complement of burndy cables

Here's a picture of them at UHES towers, complete with a consecutive set of serial numbers which appeals to the inner nerd in me!

More once installed!

Well....  there was this one...

And for balance, there's this...

... where's Hungry Halibut's relative when you need her. Ah, here we go :

Steady Jan-Erik, steady...

I'm trying Richard, but once you're in the sweet spot...

Interesting turn this thread has taken!

Yes and one I like a lot. Many of the Linn ads take me back to the days I began this Hi-Fi thing. Thanks Richard (Fangfoss Flyer) for posting them !

Posted on: 27 November 2015 by Graham Clarke

Well, judging by the sexist nature of the ads you can tell they weren't trying to market to women!

I for one won't be buying a car just for the sake of changing my car, and will take very good care of my existing cars. The cost of Naim kit pales in comparison to the cost of a brand new car.

Priorities....

if one can show me which sacrifices a regular employee (in ANY country) can make to order a statement preamp and 3 (THREE) new NAP 300's, maybe i will show him gratitude for the rest of my life...

and the part with cars - well, i don't know how you calculated it, but i just swapped by BMW 1 series for a MB A class, and the costs involved were merely bits and pieces compared to even one 300 new!

i am also a car fan, and swap them quite often, but the costs aren't reaching the values implied by a full or partial 500 series not to metion the statement... so i reiterate my question again...

i also work in IT business, and while i am not complaining, it is definately out of my league a setup that costs 30-40 k or more... not to mention, even if i had those kind of money, i would not spend it on hifi gear... i consider those prices WAY above all the eforts involved in development and production, so actually you pay a lot for ... a status, and not the object itself or it's functions! that's how we have way too rich people, because some pay for this status, and some are rewarded with way too much, for way too little effort... disbalance, which leads to all sorts of problems we have in current society... but... that's way out of this thread's scope, i guess...

only one think to add... if I had a statement, i would not post here on the forum. i consider it partly unfair to those who actually make sacrifices to get even a Nait 5i!

but... enough with the offtopic...

Peevish much? It's none of your ****ing business how much people earn, what for and what they spend it on.

This threads title appears to be completely unrelated to its content.  I have to say I much prefer the content

Err, that was a different thread (I'm the OP of this one and am not missing any wires).  Yes, I believe the missing two burndies arrived.

Well, given that the CB range was replaced by Olive in 1989, just think what she looks like now. That should speed your recovery.
