Upgrade bug!!

Posted by: Gurbinder on 08 November 2015

Guy's,

I really need your help before I unnecessarily spend some money, My current system is a unitilite with B&W 685s2, but I keep looking at ex demo/display U2 or SU to replace the Lite.

My question is I am really happy with what I have, if I make the upgrade would I notice the sonic upgrade with my current speaker which I would not upgrade for about 18 months or do i stick with what I have???

Or do I buy a NAP 200???

Thanks in advance.

I used to have a Unitilite in my office, with some LS3/5A loudspeakers, streaming from a Unitiserve.  One day I thought how fantastic it sounded and wondered whether a SuperUniti might sound even better.  So i bought an ex-demo one from a Naim dealer and it does.......

Best

If you can manage without a CD player, I'd definitely go for the Superuniti over a Uniti. BUT if you anticipate further upgrades in future, your idea of adding a 200 makes more sense. It will be quite a big improvement to your UL, and then when the time comes to upgrade your source and preamp, the 200 will still be worth keeping.

+1

If you're really happy with your system I don't see the point.
