Celef LS8 ProAc?

Does anyone know the definitive story behind these infinite baffle speakers in the style of LS3/5a

They are being sold as new on ebay

They look interesting from a historical point of view. however, I wouldn't gamble without an extended listening session, especially at over a Grand.

Listen to ATC SCM7 if you want something small. I bought these from my nearest Naim/ATC dealer for £400 (original version). The newer ones are even better. Someone on here, uses SCM7 with 500 series, but IMO, this is a bit of a reverse Mullet.

BTW, the auction site you mention, usually referred to, as, "a well known auction site" in this forum.

Please let us know how you get on.

Hi, nimrodmr2p,

Celef were the very first real hi-fi speakers, I ever heard. Followed by Proac Tablette. I wanted Tablette badly, but my very sensible dealer sold me a Rega Planar 3 turntable. Sadly, I never got Tablette.

The rest is history, see my bio.Must update it soon.

ProAc were originally Celef.  From what I can make out these LS8s are LS3/5a cabinets with ProAc drive units inside - kind of a ProAc version of the LS3/5a.  Looks like they are using the old Celef brand again to distinguish them from current ProAc range.

Thanks for the comments

The reply from the seller is signed Stewart but i am not sure if it is Mr Tyler

I have a feeling you have to buy a pair to hear them which is a bit of a risk at the prices asked
