MTB groupsets

I run a fairly old XTR triple on my Moots MTB, a groupset that has been swapped over a succession of bikes for years with just new cables every season and the occasional BB.

It really is wearing out now and the shifters are starting to literally fall apart. Chainrings are pretty much gone too-have replaced some already.

Looks like I do still have triple options but most seem to be using 2 x 11 in XTR or XT. Checking ratios and gear calculators it seems I'd have the same low ratio and lose a bit at the top end from the existing setup.

Anyone using new 11speed Shimano got tips or observations?

XTR pricey but faultless in my experience-and lasted amazingly well. Possibly still worth the premium over XT though I might mix and match. Don't suggest SRAM. I had a bike with their stuff once and it fell to bits several times in a month or two of use. Vowed never again!
