Hi.

If you search for the "Tellurium Q Black" discussions on this forum it may help you to decide

i've heard that van damme cables work well with pmc but  how are they with naim?

Try Witchat Audio N2 excellent value for money works well with Naim plus it is very flexible.

Naim are a little more sensitive with speaker cables than other makes due to the design of the output stage, but the Nait XS2 & the other integrated amps are less particular.

There are too many Van Damme to be specific but with the wide conductor separator (like NACA5) that many have they will have the high inductance properties that are ideal for Naim.

Also take a look at Linn K20,  it is very similar to NACA5 in many respects.

I use Chord Odyssey & can recommend most all the Chord Cable models but would be a bit hesitant with the smaller wire gauge sizes.  Because the Chord cables are medium (normal) inductance I expect they might sound better with longer runs,  I have 5.5m on each channel which has the same inductance as the Naim recommended minimum.

............   & the latest fav-rave is Tellurium Q Black

The TQB would be my choice with the PMC speakers.

Naca4, that is Linn K20.

After years of Naca 4 and 5, I am presently using Vertere Pulse X Mini speaker cable, and my system has never sounded so good. But if you don't presently talk NAC A5, Tellurium Q Black or some Chord, people ain't listening...

Best wishes.

a shielded speaker cable, specification wise, how would it go with Naim amps ?

They don't publish any electrical specs so its hard to judge

If they where a simple figure 8 parallel pair they would have medium inductance & capacitance & be much like any other cable with that description & will not cause any issues with a Naim amp.

However,  the multiple insulated conductors in each channel & the screen (which has different connection options) make it far more unpredictable.

Personally I would expect them to be OK,   especially so as Max & other forum'ites are getting such excellent SQ results

DNM Reson - very cohesive sound, smooth highs (which will help with XS2 + Pmc twenty treble), controled bass. A great alternative could be Chord Rumour 2 or Chord Clearway.

@ sharik & Mike:

I made the point of shielded cables a long time ago, when SuperLumina first appeared; but it seems it is not an issue, at least for the Statement amps - but, judging from some later posts, nor with SL used on classic amps.

I simply started from the point that SuperLumina were so 'similar' to Vertere (unofficially, perhaps, more than that), and decided to base my choice upon intuition; for sure, my Supernait hasn't become unstable , doesn't get warm and I have had sonic benefits on every parameter: bass, treble, dynamics, timbre, imaging, naturalness.

Safe that strongly recommend them, I wouldn't know what else to say.

Best

Max

in the review of the 250DR on "the ear" website , Steve Sells (Naim engineer who designed the mighty statement - in this interview - states that the 250DR and 250.2 are stable with any speaker cable.

Not sure if this is misquoting or accurate.

+1 for tellurium black or ultra black if funds allow.

I got a really synergistic result from using Nordost blue heaven Speaker cables with Heimdall power and signal cables. Really put the best qualities of the XS amp into my room and speakers. With low volume listening it was gorgeous..

I got excellent results from Atlas Hyper 2.0 between my 250.2 and Twenty.23.

I chose it over the A5 for the sound regardless of the fact it is lower cost. Quite different priories to the A5 but Naim confirmed it should be fine when I asked them.
