System location and power supply

Hi,
I have just confirmed yesterday the purchase of a new Fraim to go with my new boxes.
I have had a count up today and will require 8 sockets.
The Mrs has rearranged the living room so we now have a dedicated space at the side of the fireplace for the Fraim to stand. The alcove is 1300mm wide so plenty of space to accommodate a tall lamp as well for swapping of vinyls etc.
There is currently 2 wall sockets in the corner, I have 2 weeks until my dealer comes to install my new equipment.
Am I best getting my sparky up and adding 3 more twin sockets next to my existing one then each box has a dedicated wall socket or just go with the general plug strip. If sockets are best he generally uses MK fittings when he works with us. Im presuming these will do the job?
Any other suggestions while I have a blank canvass?
Thanks Dan

If you're getting an electrician in he would be best employed installing a dedicated supply for the hifi with a separate CSU taken of the supply tails before the house CSU. Whether you have a ring or radials is a matter of debate but either will be better. You can have separate sockets or go for a plug strip. If you have any SMPSs in your system plug them into the house circuit.

Good luck.

Unfortunately rewiring isn't an option open to us.

In any case 3 more of those twin sockets in wall (connections screwed hard) should do better than some generic power strip on the floor. Might look better too?

Yes that's what I was thinking.
My dealer has recommended having the new sockets fitted.
He's said to go for MK logic plus unswitched so ice order 4 doubles up.
At least it will look tidy.

You could go for a hydra. I have one for my two boxes, with just one plug. Works really well and I understand you can get them with more tails. I changed from stock cables to the Grahams one. I guess a pointless reply if you are going to have power lines. However there was a marked, positive difference in going the hydra route.
