SF Concerto Home and Naim Gear

Posted by: PACPAC on 01 December 2015

Hi all Concertos users,

I searched for some suitable gear for my Sonus Faber Concerto Home speakers.

I can point main issues from Concertos both professional and user reviews: amp 2x70W minimum, amp 2x100W optimum, to avoid MID-FI, good match with Naim gear - not entry level but separates, original speaker stands is a must.

As I have no budget for Naim separates I Auditioned concertos with UQ2 first, the sound was not really bad but not satisfying as well. The sound was much better with XS2, it was not step up it was jump up noticable at the first moment. I auditioned SU next and the sound was significantly better at the first moment. So I bought SU.

Concertos performance is really extremely speaker stands dependent. I have no original stands so I mast DIY somehow.

Do anybody have Concertos original stands ?

Do anybody let me know top plate size incl. position of wholes for fixing screws and bottom plate size, please ?

Why not contact Sonus Faber?

A friend of mine has his Concertos on stands from Solidsteel and they work pretty well. If you are unable to secure a pair of the original stands, take a look at them.

After Franco Serblin left Sonus Faber then  the company "deleted" all history and after Franco died there is no more any information

Hi Jiri,

Solidsteel is an italian company, just like Sonus faber back then. I was not sure if they are still in business, so I went to my usual search engine and typed "Solidsteel stand" into the search field (no links to commercial sites allowed here). As always, try to get a demo...

Hi Mulberry,

thank you, however I need to finalize my DIY stands

Solidsteel is still around.

Back to the original response to the question. Have you contacted Sonus Faber? It's a yes or no question. They do have an email address, no. If you get no response from them, there are countless Sonus Faber subfora on various sites as well as Sonus Faber's Facebook page.

I contacted SF  long long ago but no answer. But fans from SF Facebook would help I hope. Thank you.
