Fleetwood Mac - Tusk - Deluxe (UK)

Posted by: rjstaines on 03 December 2015

For Fleetwood Mac fans, there was Tusk (remastered) on HD Tracks UK site for £18.50 for 20 tracks running 1hr 14mins in 96/24, and now there's Tusk Deluxe for £17 for 84 tracks running 5hrs 47mins, still in 96/24.   And on top of this there's a 15% discount, bringing the price (in £ ) down to £14.45.

I'm downloading as I write, so I can't comment on the content, but I don't care what you say, five and three quarter hours of Fleetwood Mac for fourteen smakeroos cannot be bad value !

Qobuz sublime just 11.49 Euros, while I am not a fan - so I will not download this album...

Indeed very visible..., but Qobuz is on average the cheapest - at least assuming one has Qobuz Sublime and even very often without Sublime...

Tusk is a good album that I've always enjoyed on original vinyl, but have no desire to venture beyond that. Still, I'm glad to see it getting some renewed attention. Always loved the title track with the USC marching band.

I've moved this over to the Music room for you.

Personally, I'm not sure I could stand over 5 hours of Tusk.  I've always thought it would have made a better single album...

Sometimes less is more......  ;-)

OK, I'll grant you that... I guess 5 hours of Tusk will be a little like the 30/40 Manheim Steamroller 50 track album I downloaded yesterday... I had to break off a third of the way through at midnight, to sleep.  The NDS is still queued to continue today, but I might well sample some Tusk instead, not that the Manheim Steamroller album is not rather wonderful, it's just as Karlostt says above, "Less is more"

On the 'less is more' front, I picked up Groove Armada's Little Black Book download.  Not so little, at 5 hours 9 mins, but as a fan, one of the biggest disappointments in memory.  After 1 hour I was bored, after 90 mins a headache, and if I'd gone the distance it may have resulted in a sectioning under the mental health act.  Please give it up GM, and go back to what you were good at.....
