Would be nice if it plays on Naim too.

This is good news indeed. I suspect Naim will have MQA eventually..

Very interesting. Whether MQA proves to be the answer or not, I've been hoping for streaming at above CD quality. I think Naxos are already offering this with a very limited catalogue. It would be good (if a bit unlikely) to hear something from Naim re their support for MQA.

According to the article, Tidal will 'upgrade its CD-quality library to hi-res.' I can't help wondering how many of these tracks will be available to Tidal as Hi-res. masters, as opposed to upsampled 16/44 files before they compress them?

As Qobuz was promising to deliver "Studio Master" it would be good to know the choice of Tidal...
(as said above if it's just an upsampling of a 16/44 file.....)

I certainly hope it's not 16/44.1 and then squished into MQA, which is a lossy format, that really would be crazy.  Qobuz already offer streaming lossless FLAC in high-res providing it's an album you've purchased from them.  If you care that much about audio quality to buy hi-res albums, why you would accept anything less than a lossless format is beyond me.  Although, as usual, and quite stupidly, you can only stream hi-res from Qobuz to that ultra high-end audio device the smart phone.  How useful!
