Connection Magazine l Winter 2015
Posted by: NaimAudio on 04 December 2015
Those of you who have signed up to our mailing list will shortly be receiving the latest issue of Connection. The theme of this year’s magazine is exploration. We go beneath the surface to investigate the potential of our range of streaming products and see what it takes to create the world’s finest amplifier. We profile Naim Label’s ESKA, trace the history of our power amps and see a classic Naim product restored to full health.
We hope you enjoy this latest issue and would love to know what you think in the comments below.
For those of you who are not on our mailing list and would like to receive a copy, you can sign up here: www.naimaudio.com/register/connection
Yup, mine arrived today too. I didn't re-register, so I assume that if you've received them in the past you just have to be patient.
Received mine today, thank you very much Naim ![]()
When will the PDF be available for non-UK customers?
Just for you, Hook, the best bit.

Exactly - we neither get them by post nor can we download them. That is unfair. And we paid the same money for our NAIMs....
If I were Naim, I'd just publish it online for all to see, and forget about the paper copies altogether.
Or at least make it available to registered users....
Mine arrived this morning. Looked at it with a cup of tea this afternoon and then put it straight to the bin. What a waste of money it is and as a customer I'm paying for this. Imagine the outcry if your local council or the BBC produced this drivel and sent it out "free". The Daily Heil would wet itself
The cost of this - postage, "editorial", heavy glazed paper, no ads - must run to £3-4 a copy I'd have thought. If Naim want to sell it at an economic price, then fine. But I for one resent effectively having to pay for something as deeply unwanted as this
But don't get me started on a worse offender, the Nespresso Magazine. At least Naim haven't got to paying George Cloony..........yet!
With the BBC it wouldn't be free because you pay an annual fee that helps to fund everything they do but you have already purchased your Naim gear so it is either free or you have already paid for it and the cost comes off their bottom line in which case what's to complain about. Of course they could/will recover that cost on future sales perhaps but if you don't make any it won't affect you.

Maybe you could take the time to remove yourself from the mailing list?

Have you forggoten that we are in the land of premium products ? I am not saying I agree or disagree with the value of the connection mag but this is the same in may other names who has marketing budget to remind their customers that they are associated with a premium product and the value they received from buying into it.
Maybe some of us wouldn't value it but I think most would - at least subconsciously!
Yes, we are all paying for it in one way or the other.

Thank you HH, it's nice to finally know why Naim chose to support DSD. ![]()

PS - My one and only album by The Smiths is...

...on vinyl (ROUGH 76). How do you rate it?

Perhaps you could donate your free copy to the rest of us in 3rd world countries? NAIM cannot be bothered to send us a copy, since 1st class postage to the European Union would surely break their budget....
Mike-B posted:My copy is not in the bin, but I must say I am inclined a bit towards JSH's opinion; compared to previous copies it is disappointing. High gloss, fancy-art pictures, a lot of open unprinted page space, & like the daily red tops, nothing much in between. Some of the items were light reading interest, but there is more on the www site.Sorry, I hate being negative so call it positive critique, but this is not a publication for established Naim users.
I am in the far east so it is unlikely I will see it until an online version is available or when I happen to be near my dealer in town to pick up a copy. Based on what you say, it seems a little dissapointing. Perhaps Naim may have set the expectation rather high in terms of editorial standard of this mag.

Wonderful! This is the album with the John Peel session track referred to in Connection. It also includes the wonderfully, fantastically marvellous Handsome Devil.
Further to my previous post, mine arrived yesterday - what a nice surprise:-)

A bit negative and ungrateful I'd say. Surely it'd have been better to provide some constructive feedback rather than post a public moan
Somewhat surprising admitting to having a Nespresso magazine too ;-)

Clearly they were desperate for anything that makes it sound better
Clive B posted:Has anyone received a copy yet? I haven't, but I'm beginning to wonder if you need to renew your registration on a regular basis to remain on the list.
Ours arrived on Tuesday.
Helen particularly liked the NDS porn inside the front cover. That got her all wriggly.

Mine arrived yesterday too, however because I follow the forum and Naim reviews etc there wasn't really much in there I found new or enlightening. However I'm likely not the target market due to that.
Pleased to say that 24 hours or so after re-registering mine has arrived.

Happy to. Are you going to come by to pick it up or do you want to send me the postage? It'll be expensive to post though!!

Negative I agree. Ungrateful??? I didn't ask for this so why should I be grateful?
Nespresso are like Naim. Beautiful equipment but a marketing department which I suspect does not conduct much evaluation of what it does. I wonder how many people say "I've bought a Naim/ Nespresson because of the glossy magazine". It certainly wasn't a selling point with my dealer. No, I suspect most say they've bought those products because they like top quality hifi/coffee, as I do. For me, the magazines are not a bonus, but whatever the opposite of bonus is
Mulct?
