Connection Magazine l Winter 2015
Posted by: NaimAudio on 04 December 2015
Those of you who have signed up to our mailing list will shortly be receiving the latest issue of Connection. The theme of this year’s magazine is exploration. We go beneath the surface to investigate the potential of our range of streaming products and see what it takes to create the world’s finest amplifier. We profile Naim Label’s ESKA, trace the history of our power amps and see a classic Naim product restored to full health.
We hope you enjoy this latest issue and would love to know what you think in the comments below.
For those of you who are not on our mailing list and would like to receive a copy, you can sign up here: www.naimaudio.com/register/connection

What a waste of money it is and as a customer I'm paying for this. Imagine the outcry if your local council or the BBC produced this drivel and sent it out "free". The Daily Heil would wet itself
The cost of this - postage, "editorial", heavy glazed paper, no ads - must run to £3-4 a copy I'd have thought. If Naim want to sell it at an economic price, then fine. But I for one resent effectively having to pay for something as deeply unwanted as this
But don't get me started on a worse offender, the Nespresso Magazine. At least Naim haven't got to paying George Cloony..........yet!
A bit negative and ungrateful I'd say. Surely it'd have been better to provide some constructive feedback rather than post a public moan
Somewhat surprising admitting to having a Nespresso magazine too ;-)
Negative I agree. Ungrateful??? I didn't ask for this so why should I be grateful?
Nespresso are like Naim. Beautiful equipment but a marketing department which I suspect does not conduct much evaluation of what it does. I wonder how many people say "I've bought a Naim/ Nespresson because of the glossy magazine". It certainly wasn't a selling point with my dealer. No, I suspect most say they've bought those products because they like top quality hifi/coffee, as I do. For me, the magazines are not a bonus, but whatever the opposite of bonus is
How about changing your avatar for something a little more seasonal and appropriate.

Of course they could/will recover that cost on future sales perhaps but if you don't make any it won't affect you.
With respect, I think you miss my point. If the BBC (or your Council or the Health Authority or whatever) produced a magazine at around £3-4 per copy telling us all how wonderful they were and distributed say 10,000 copies we'd never hear the last from the Mail and Murdoch about it. You're right, we will each have already paid for that publication just have we already have with Naim through our purchase cost, so there's no real difference. That in itself would not make the magazine any less of a waste of money (as would any BBC/ Council/ magazine in my analogy).
IMHO, this magazine is a waste of money which I would rather Naim spend on reseacrh to improve their oroducts still further. Use it to buy a few more technician hours or someone on the Helpdesk to help out Phil and the others, rather than this copy-writer dross!

Definitely NOT personal. Please feel free to report!
No? But I don't need to report; I'll just let others judge
Most models are more beautiful than the people who photograph or paint them; but some are not. You cannot judge that unless you can see both subject and artist. As you don't know what I look like - and you never will - you cannot judge whether I'm better looking than the lady in the photo or not. FWIW, she is a matriarch in her community, very aged but much loved, respected and even revered. So the aged "hope they find a cure soon" remark - which is older than she is - might be considered by some as rather insulting. But as she will never see it, so only those here will be able to judge its appropriateness

Having followed the link to the Naim site, I decided to sample the Naim Radio Player while I browsed Connection. Not sure which was more offended - my ears or my eyes.
But seriously, as folks have pointed out Connection seems not terribly useful to forum members as much as something for dealers to put in their showrooms to attract potential customers. Probably good for that and I'm sure it represents a lot of hard work from folks at Naim.
Anyhow, this has been one interesting thread and I'm guessing next Connection topic Naim posts will be locked ![]()
The thing is, Naim's first product was the 200....
If we are being pedantic, it's not 'should of read'. It's 'should have read'.
I just read the PDF version and I though it was well put together and the content was at the right level for the majority of its readers. Thanks for putting together this magazine!
Great bit of fluff bumf..that is what it is.
nice if it could offer more , but making people want more is what it's there for nonetheless and lest we forget. Amen.
I registered soon after this thread was started.but...............
...............Sill no magazine !
I haven't seen one for a few years. Although I have praised Krell and Wilson once or twice on the Forum I haven't "dissed" Naim, so I can't believe I've been sidelined...........well, I hope I haven't !
Don't worry Don, mine hasn't arrived yet either...

Thank you Richard. I'll sleep easy tonight.
I got mine and it's a quality mag. Thanks
