NAC 202 or 282 as Upgrade from NaitXS2?

Long time lurker but first time poster here; please be gentle.

Right now in my main system I'm running a NaitXS2 + HC; early in the new year I hope to shift a NAP 200 over from another system and use the Nait as a pre-amp only.  Eventually I'd like to upgrade the Nait to either a NAC 202 or a 282.  My question: is the 202 a significant and sufficient upgrade from the Nait or should I wait and save up for the 282?  Speakers are DeVore Silverbacks, other components are listed in my profile.

Thanks Allante93, I have owned the system since about 1990 I think. Its fundamentally unchanged and has just undergone occasional refinements when I could afford it. I have many fond musical experiences with this system and it has played a massively influential role in my life.

I just noticed I didn't include that the LP12 also has Lingo 3 power supply

A little update: a NAP250DR is on order so hopefully before Christmas I'll have it in my bedroom system and will be able to move my NAP200 (non DR) out to the living room to pair with the Nait XS2 as a pre-amp.  Talk about happy holidays!!

It certainly is!  But I'm retired so I spend a couple hours in the morning lazing in bed while reading the (electronic) paper on my iPad and listening to music... and every night I listen to a CD or two before turning out the light.  So it will get plenty of use!

Hi Tallan, I would wait with your preamp upgrade until naim has refreshed its preamp line, my guess is that this will happen next year. In the meantime, using the XS2 as a preamp will help you out nicely. Best, Stefan
