Adam Curtis wasn't allowed to call the programme this originally, as the commissioners said it was too long a title for the public to be able to comprehend.
So, he pointed out that it is the same number of words as "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here!" and got his way.
I enjoyed it, The Power of Nightmares, and the short films he made for Charlie Brooker's Newswipe. but I can see where the criticisms come from. It's entertainment and dogma more than investigation and documentary. From the use of 'big' music to the 'Brass Eye' style film editing and visuals, it is certainly not balanced or contemplative. But he makes good points in an entertaining way, so great telly.

Great telly indeed. Full of thought provoking ideas, superb visuals and humour. The clip of Clinton and Lewinsky to a backing of Leonard Cohen worked beautifully. TV that makes you think - which is a rarity these days.
Up their with Jonathan Meades for great, entertaining, enjoyable documentaries.

I shall be sticking with this delightfully different, intelligent and thought provoking series.
A rare and shining gem amidst the morass of dross on TV.
