HDMI angled cables

Well, SWMBO's new 42" Panasonic plasma has arrived. Cue an infinity of inane questions from her ...
The muppets from Currys who delivered it seemed remarkably clueless, and seemed surprised when SWMBO asked them to switch it on to check that it worked before they left! Strange, as they were supposed to set it all up, demonstrate it, remove old TV etc. Personally, I couldn't wait to get them out of the house to undo their work and route the cables correctly etc.
So, after they left, I was going through the bits and discovered they had omitted to fit part of the stand, which meant taking the TV off, installing the bit, etc etc. SWMBO said "let's get them back to do it". You can imagine what I replied.
Anyway, back to the Title topic. The HDMI connectors are very near the edge of the set, and it's difficult to dress the cables so that you can't see them sticking out of the side. Why didn't they just set them a little further in? So, I've been looking on the web for 1m or 1.5m (I need to check if 1m will do) HDMI 1.4 with right angled connectors. I note that there appear to be 2 types of angled connector leads - mostly with the angle aiming to trail the lead down from a horizontal HDMI socket, but I suspect that what I want is the alternative type which basically has the plug twisted through 90 degrees, so that the cable will run down from a vertically orientated HDMI socket (if you see what I mean). Does anyone have any experience of these, and to they foul each other when you try to install them into 4 HDMI sockets one above the other? Also, has anyone seen any of this type of lead specified as being suitable for HDMI 3D use? Alas, none of the lead sites seem to let you specifiy the orientation of the right angled HDMI leads when you search.
