DAC V1 volume control set up issue

Posted by: Ivo B on 09 December 2015

Hello,

I have a Mac / DAC V1 / Nac 112x / Nap 150x / FlatCap2 configuration. The Mac Mini is brand new. I use Kodi as a player (have also BitPerfect from App store). The USB cable is Audioquest Carbon. So I have followed the configuration steps in the latest manual with the DSD upgrade.

I checked "Fixed Output" and "PC Volume" as described with DAC and Nap volumes set at low. In the OS X Sound System Preferences the volume is on Max as shown in the manual. The result is that I can barely here a sound. When try to increase the volume, through Nap's or DAC's remote, the DAC V1 message is "Volume locked". Up and Down are not functioning.

I would appretiate an advice how to the set appropriately the Mac / DAC / Nac volume control.

The other issue I have experienced is the BitPerfect test. I used iTunes following the manual again. The only audio files on the Mac were the BitPerfect ones downloaded from Naim. The DAC V1 said:

Audio is not BitPerfect
No test audio found.

My apologies if these topics were discussed previously.

Best regards,

Ivo

Thank you Jude!

Thank you all!

I will look for additional info as you propose. Especially for the scheduled shutdown. I use already the A+remote on my iPhone and iPad. I like this app. I can restrict some apps but the WiFi is needed in order to control the Mac Mini.
