Speaker recommendations at Low Volume, to pair with N272 & 250DR

Hi Guys,

Still not made a decision with regard to speakers but I have noticed that many speakers do not seem to perform until the volume is cranked up.

Can anyone recommend speakers that can bring out the detail at low volume?

Well if you've already got that one covered, maybe it'll make a good listening room after all - at least for piano solos!

Just to throw something in the mix. I have Sonus Faber Olympica II, they were used on my SU (upgraded yesterday to 272/250). In my opinion they offer a very full and detailed sound at relatively low volume. I am listening to Clapton now at 16 on the volume and the sound is pretty good. Obviously it does still open up when you increase the volume.

The type of music does make a huge difference though.

I am currently listening to my 272/250DR via Ovator 400s at a volume on 15 and Roger Waters Live sounds great. Speakers 3.5 m apart in a 6x4m room and image beautifully as well.
