Upgrade options

My current sistem as follows..

NDS/555DR/252/SuperDR/250.2 (non DR)/S400/NACA5 on fraim with a SL interconnect.

Nothing really wrong with the system but here comes the upgrade itch.

I am contemplating between one of these 3 upgrade options

1. a 2nd 555DR. I might be able to get a very new one for a slight discount.

2. trade in for a new 300DR. Tending towards this as my 250 is about 10 years old and will soon be due for a recap. But then again, the S400 doesnt seem to be a tough speaker to drive.

3. get the SL speaker cable.. the cheapest option of the 3.

On NDS and SL cables : I went through a slightly similar decision on NDS/SN2/S400/555DR. In the end I decided that the SL Speaker Cable plus the Interconnect provided better value as an upgrade than a second 555DR.

Although I didn't push the button at the time all my testing and demo time I was going to purchase ex-demo HCDR for SN2 and SL SC & IC, and not a second 555DR.

Others may have better answers who have done this for a longer period or owned/purchased the same after their testing.

As for 300DR all I can say is the 250DR I have now is splendid.
