Hi Adam, ok, I will try, but Czech Rep is very small market fir Naim and it is not that easy to find used Naim products

So is Poland unfortunately - I was lucky with my nDAC - picked it up 6 months ago, as a second hand. in Warsaw - an nDAC pops up every now and then. You could also trynsome of the UK sites.

I also run a business in Prague (located in Karlin) so I'm there a lot.

Do let me know how you find the nDAC.

All clear Richard.

But I think you misunderstood - I am not offering anything for sale, I don't trade in second had equipment. All I meant is that both Poland and Czech Republic are fairly small primary NAIM markets. Secondary market is almost non-existent. If I see a second-hand piece of NAIM that OP is looking for I will alert him directly by email.

So no forum rules broken I hope. If they were, it was unintentional.

I was extra surprised by my post being removed.

Steve, i tried an XPS2DR on my CDS3 in place of my 9 year old XPS2. I felt it was different, rather than better. Quite frankly, given the cost i'd be tempted to go on holiday instead.

Hi Gray, would really appreciate if you can explain the difference.

Hi, just changed my setup a bit: Now I am using the XPS DR on the HDX directly and not on the nDAC. Also I am no longer running the HDX through the nDAC but directly into my SN2 (using HiLine). The XPS effect is much bigger on the HDX than on the nDAC IMHO as opposed what was suggested on this forum.

Best,

Chris

What a nice hobby we have :-) just little bit expensive ... next time HiCap DR for my SN2..

Given my recent system updates I'm trying a HCDR (again) on my SN2 next week.

I'm keeping this one Graeme, really really pleased with what it does to my SN2, not night and day but more depth, soundstage and realism that is very enjoyable.

HCDR playing a few hours now and it's fair to say the S-400 is far more capable of revealing the gains than the PMC Twenty.23 could. Noise floor has dropped and timbres are more nuanced between instruments. Soundstage is bigger with greater back-to-front depth particularly. Bass more tuneful and less 'soft'.

What a cracking system I have now...Extra pleased at bagging a naim black Snaic 4 for £26! (on Sunday when no-one was looking on Ebay).

My dealer has lent me a well run in XPS DR for several days to check out. I was planning it anyway but Martins thread is a carbon copy so thought I would add to it.

i guess this will be my stop point with my 3 boxes looking pretty good:

what can I say? Turbocharged is a great description (thanks Rick!). It gives me a sense of the sound having been 'filled out', just very rich and detailed. The bass notes have moved to a different level even though the SL cabling I have had already transformed them.

im sure I'll be making a purchase, preferably before April (price increase territory!), just need to reshuffle some funds to make it happen.

Other thing I would say is that even with 3 boxes cable dressing becomes more complicated (that Burndy is a thick cable!), it will take me a while to get that sorted out once I have my own XPS. It must be a real challenge for those with big systems, I cant imagine how complicated that would be.

Holiday is just one off joy, Naim upgrade gives me years of joy ( but difficult to explain to my wife :-) )

I understand this so well... Perhaps we are more for objects and women more for experiences.. Although it could be argued who does the best use of what.

Martin, one could argue a holiday is a one off joy compared to an 'upgrade'. That is if you consider it an upgrade, which i made perfectly clear, l don't. I'd also argue the point even if it was an upgrade. One man's 'joy' of a DR 'upgrade' vs another's from say, three weeks travelling round Tuscany in the sun.....

Max, i love an object as much as any guy, but DR'ing a box doesn't count really. Once one has grown accustomed to the change it is forgotten way quicker than a magnificent holiday experience. It's not like buying a shiny new toy where you at least have something tangible to look at.
