Naim Support

Posted by: Andy P on 23 December 2015

Hi Guys. I just wanted to thank the guys at Naim for their great accessibility and assistance when setting up my new purchase. I decided to spoil myself and upgrade the Superuniti to a NAC N 272 and a NAP250DR. I could not work out why the 272 would not power on. I tried new power leads, read the manual again and tried to call my local dealer who was closed. After a 2 minute call to Naim it was clear I had left off the blank for the external power supply. Easily fixed and now I can enjoy.

Thanks guys and merry Christmas.

That's good. It's always scary when you plug your new acquisition in and it doesn't work.... We've all been there at one time or another.

The 272/250DR is just brilliant - it will take a few weeks reach its full capabilities, by which time you'll realise that it's a quantum leap from the SU, excellent as that is.

Naim Support really are a class act, Phil Harris has helped me a number of times and always been polite and professional .

Merry Christmas to all .

I've done the same thing myself after a clean-up/rebuild.

Best buy a XP5/XPS/555PS and avoid embarrassing mistakes in the future

+1

I'm not quite sure how Phil manages to have any time off?  On the two occasions I have needed technical assistance, Phil has willingly been available well into the evening, to try and resolve things.....which he inevitably does with the minimum of fuss too!

If only some other support lines/services could put in half the effort that he (and Naim) does, I might have some colour left in my hair!

I'd like to add thanks to Steven Hopkins.  I was having difficulty updating my NDac so I emailed Steve, got a reply very quickly as to what I should do.  I followed his instructions later that day, and it immediately worked.  I emailed a thank you note to Steve, and even though it was after normal working hours, got a reply from him saying he was pleased the problem had been solved.  Excellent personal service.  Naim and its staff are a class act.

I think I've blown the budget this year. I'll have to live with the risk of another school boy error for sometime.

Does the external power supply really make such a huge difference?
