Statement - The Audio Beat review

Posted by: Tabby cat on 27 December 2015

I know Forum rules don't allow links to other sites but  Roy Gregory onThe Audio Beat site has a comprehensive Statement review.Very informative and comprehensive. Interesting as SL isn't used, also analog is covered which is quite rare on a Staement review with a front end using the very tasty Lyra Etna cartridge.

Well worth checking out.Good read.

Thanks, it's an interesting review. What made me smile is the suggestion that the SL leads are not good enough for the Statement, and that Naim should introduce an even more expensive range of Statement cables for all users to aspire to!

This should have been in the latest issue (130) of HIFI+, instead there is the usual gonzo review by Alan Sircom.

There was a good review by Martin Collums in the April-June 2015 issue of HiFi Critic. No complaints of the SL cables there.

Not only that but the fact he raises concerns about disenfranchising existing customers due to the price disparity of the Statement bits and then espouses launching even more expensive cables.  Huh?

MC's review came in two parts, the second being in the July-Sept issue, and while he seems to like SL IC, he does have reservations regarding SL LC, specifically in respect of rhythm & timing; FWIW, he still seems to prefer NAC-A5.

Better not encourage him to try TQB then...
