Naim CD player

Hi guys,

After many years of soul searching for the most suitable CD set up for my quiet taste in chamber music, I finally settle in with the CDX/Cdps combo.  To me, this combo strike the best balance between high resolution and analogy like sound which I have every intension to keep for good. I have the following questions and hope to have answers from the more experienced Naim owners here.

1.  The transport mach is most likely to give up before anything else.  Is it worth to look out for a replacement CD12.5 / VAM1205 or the near identical VAM1204 as spare?  If so, should I get the whole transport or just the lens?

2.  I have no idea if Naim UK still carries the VAM1205 as service part.  In case not or no longer available when my CDX transport breakdown, would Naim take on one provided by the user and offer the repair service?

3.  Any comments or sharing you can offer on CDX/Cdps or XPS.  Please!

Best,

Micbill

Micbill, the people in the best position to provide the answer here is Naim themselves.  Although it's currently the xmas break, I would suggest you e-mail them on info@naimaudio.com.

Much appreciated for the info mail suggestion.  Perhaps, its always best to communicate with Naim directly than bringing it up to this forum.

Cheers,

Not always.  But if you're looking for a specific bit of information to which only Naim would have the answer, then yes, communicating directly with them would give you the best answer.
